Multiviola are fiery orange-colored orbs that continuously glide and bounce off of the cavern walls in Norfair. They are the adult versions of the Viola, which appear in the blue variety and have more limited movement.

Multiviolas can be killed with beam weaponry or a single missile. Attempting to shoot them with missiles requires careful timing, as they can change elevation rather quickly, sometimes with speeds that are impractical for precise targeting. In the event the Spazer Beam hasn’t been obtained or missiles are in short supply, they will require more shots and effort to kill with the Normal Beam. However, if the Charge Beam has at least been acquired, fully charging any beam and performing a spin jump attack will kill a Multiviola in one hit.

In Zero Mission, the highest form of Multiviolas are redesigned with multiple orbiting fireballs.
