Jellylike slugs that can stretch their bodies to jump. A Puyo is a very interesting creature. It is translucent, and has no visible organs or muscles; it could be written off as just a blob of goo. Its cells are unique in that they are united to achieving a single form. Puyos usually exist in packs, living off of each other’s prey as they search for food. When they first hatch from their eggs, they are colorless; clear. Depending on their diet, they eventually become a certain color, which they keep throughout their life.

Puyos are easily dispatched with beam weapons and even the Grapple Beam. Use Ice Beam if you just want to avoid them.

In the room right before Samus acquires the Plasma Beam is a stack of white Puyos. These Puyos are completely non-aggressive, but extremely resilient to non-Plasma-based weaponry. After the Plasma Beam is gained, all of these white Puyos can be destroyed in one hit.

Puyos have been spotted in 5 different colors: tan, yellow, red, green, and white.
