  • Misc

Plasma-based life-forms originally used to power various electronics systems on board starships. Atomics consist of a large energy orb and three smaller orbs, creating a molecular structure that generates a constant supply of electricity. Originally Chozo technology, they have since been used by the Galactic Federation and Space Pirates as energy sources. Atomics were kept in glass housings at various nodes of the ship, and their energy powered the electronics systems. When the ship was wrecked on Zebes, Atomics were left inside their tubes where they remained for untold eons. When Phantoon drained the ship’s energy, the electronics short-circuited. When Samus destroyed Phantoon and reactivated the ship, the Atomics broke free of their housing and floated about its interior, drawn to the energy generated by Samus’ suit.

Atomics appear within the broken glass cases in different rooms of the Wrecked Ship. When Samus enters, they float directly towards her. Atomics have high defense and are best destroyed with a single Super Missile.

When you first arrive in the Wrecked Ship, you can spot Atomics trapped within the glass casings, spinning wildly. After the ship is activated, they will break free. However, there is one room in the ship where the Atomic is still functioning properly within its glass case.

In Metroid Zero Mission, Atomics could shoot beams of electricity. Atomics also appeared in Metroid Prime 3 on Bryyo and in G.F.S. Valhalla. Atomics also resemble the Pulse Bombu from Metroid Prime.
