Members of the Ripper family that can be jumped upon and ridden on without any extra effort. It is believed that Trippers were genetically engineered by the Chozo for use as a biological transport device. They slowly move back and forth, and can carry a great deal of weight upon their flat, platform-like shells. While they usually move directly forward, they can also open another exhaust hole in their chest to push themselves vertically upward.

It is not recommended to destroy them, but they can be with the use of a Power Bomb or Super Missile.

Trippers are also known as “Ripper Ride.”
