Gamets live within the various air holes and ventilation passageways scattered throughout Norfair. Since they attack by ramming into their opponents with their hard shell or skewering them with their horn, Gamets tend to fly in group formations of five in order to multiply their offensive power. Their bodies are capable of enduring intense heat, allowing them to surprise intruders by even flying up from vents submerged in shallow lava pools.
In spite of their fearless flying, Gamets can be easily dispatched. If they are attacked before they spread out into formation, the whole group can even be killed with a single Normal Beam shot. If you stand nearby, they'll continue to emerge in endless waves of five, making them ideal for quickly collecting health units and ammo.
