A Space Pirate that can breathe underwater. The Pink Zebesian is immune to all other attacks before the Plasma Beam is received. Once Samus collects it, these pirates become easy fodder.
Collect the Plasma Beam, and then use it to kill all the Space Pirates in the room. This will allow the door to become unlocked. You can then kill any Pink Zebesians from there on out.
