Metarees are a more powerful variant of Skree. Their sharp and heavily-armored wings make them highly resistant to conventional attacks, and make them well-suited for diving from the ceiling and burrowing into the ground.

While it’s possible to kill a Metaree by quickly performing a Charge Spin Attack, Screw Attack, or using a Super Missile or Power Bomb, it’s best to just dash past them.

Unlike the Skrees, mounds of excrement can often be seen underneath a Metaree's roost. It's unknown whether this might indicate a significant difference between their metabolism or feeding patterns.
