These floating sea creatures are spawn of Draygon. They can shoot spiked ball projectiles from their tails. There are two distinct types of Evir - ones that live on their own, and ones that live near Draygon. It is thought that even though they are the same size, the ones that habitat near Draygon are immature and are using its mother for sustenance.

Evirs can be destroyed by laying a Power Bomb or using Super Missiles. Their threat level is very low. Just be careful of them in quicksand area throughout Maridia, as they can still shoot their projectiles even if they are off-screen.

Evir comes from the translation of its Japanese name, Ebia (エビア), which is similar to Ebi (エビ) the Japanese word for shrimp. It physically resembles a species of microsopic water flea, daphnia. The joke is taken to the next level by the gargantuan nature of both Evirs and Draygon.
