Zozoro-X are cave-dwelling worms brought aboard the Biological Science Labs for research. Their soft, worm-like bodies contain sticky feet similar to caterpillars that allow them to cling to cave walls and forage for food. Their bioluminescent rainbow-colored bodies are used for communication and mating. Zozoro-X also use the large, hair-like antennae on their heads to detect subtle changes in air pressure, allowing them to see further in the dark. These feelers also generate a mild defensive electrical field that will damage predators on contact. Their original uninfected forms are unknown.

Zozoro-X climb around the walls and ceiling of Sector 6. Mostly harmless, they are large and slow-moving, so can be easy to come in contact with in tight passages. Zozoro-X can be damaged with any Beam, but will take multiple hits. A single Missile will destroy them.

Zozoro-X can be knocked off the walls and ceiling when hit off-center by a beam or when Samus falls on one. They can also be knocked off by seismic shocks.
