This alien creature from an unknown planet once invaded Planet Zebes's ecosystem, and now, the BSL station. Kihunters possess a form of high-intelligence and have nested quite comfortably in the Main Deck and throughout the TRO(pical) sector. Insect-like, but tenacious and deadly, the Kihunter has become another victim to the X-parasite. All Kihunters on the BSL station started as a X-infected or replicated Zoros, but were somehow able to take advantage of its natural metamorphosis cycle, albeit at a much more rapid rate. When these Zoros transform into a cocoon, its shell becomes so hard it is impenetrable by any weapons. The shells also obstruct Samus from being able to go down certain paths.

Kihunters are just as deadly as they were in Super Metroid and should be encountered with extreme caution. When airborne, Kihunters will lock on to Samus and attack mercilessly, so take out any nearby before proceeding, either with Missiles or Charged Beam shots. While they are wingless, they will vomit a yellow substance at Samus.

Kihunters become plentiful right after Yakuza is defeated.

Fusion was the first game to depict that Zoros were indeed the larval form of a Kihunter. A Kihunter hive sprite was also found to be left in Fusion's game data.
