(a.k.a. “Baby†Kraid or Mini-Kraid) A miniature version of the gargantuan beast known as Kraid. Samus encounters Fake Kraid when she discovers Kraid’s new hideout in Super Metroid. Fake Kraid looks and acts exactly like the real Kraid, though it's just not nearly as tough.
You know you are near Fake Kraid when you see small green spikes coming toward you. Just let them hit you; they pose little threat. When you get near, Fake Kraid also spits projectiles at you. A single Super Missile or a couple normal Missiles should take it out in seconds. Just be prepared to fight “Big Brother†in the next room. Fake Kraid also respawns when you leave and come back.
Fake Kraid is a reference to the original Metroid - a much easier version of the actual miniboss. This was most likely placed as a ruse to throw off new players into thinking they had come to the miniboss of the game, and as nostalgia for the original.
