A large turtle-like creature that is violently protective of its young. If you are unlucky enough to stand one one, which you may easily mistake for a large mossy rock, the Tatori will rise up, sink into its shell, and begin to spin around in hopes to protect its young. Tatoris are known for their long lifespan due to their long hibernation periods. They can hibernate underground for so long that their shells can sprout plantlife.

The Tatori is found in a hidden room in Maridia and cannot be killed. Stand on the Tatori's shell and it will take you for a ride. When it moves upward, equip the Grapple Beam, and then jump vertically. Shoot the Grapple Beam at the very top of your jump. If done correctly, it will attach to a Grapple Block which above it is an Energy Tank. From there, you can shoot the right wall and collect a Missile Pack upgrade.

The baby Tatoris, while cute, can be stood upon, causing it to sink into its shell. When you then jump on it, it will send its shell spinning back and forth.
