Large insect-like creatures that hide in air ducts. The Zebbo is a very versatile insect that can live virtually anywhere; it creates its nests inside of overgrown ventilation pipes in Brinstar, lives inside of Samus Eaters and excavated holes created by Yapping Maws, and can even fly out of acidic liquid in the depths of Norfair. They resemble a combination of a praying mantis and a bee.

Easily destroyed with any weaponry; even the Grapple Beam. They fly up out of a pipe one at a time, making them easy targets for farming powerups.

Zebbos were originally introduced in Norfair in the first game, but were relocated to Brinstar for Super Metroid. Their design may have also paved the way for the War Wasps in the Prime series.
