A gelatinous, sentient ball of goo.
When approached, the Boyon will jump up and down rapidly. It can be frozen to pass by or destroyed by placing a few Power Bombs.
In the early builds of Fusion, the developers used a recolored version of the Boyon sprite to represent the X parasite.
