Autoads are large jumping robots designed to defend the ruins from indigenous life-forms and intruders. Their single eye can capture visual images in a perfect hemisphere, and they are also equipped with an audio sensor to detect sound and changes in air pressure. Designed primarily as trackers, Autoads can travel long distances rapidly and traverse rugged caves, reaching high ledges with their incredibly jumping power. These robots are said to have been inspired by the Ramulken. However, over the centuries, their programming has become corrupted and they leap about erratically, with no apparent purpose.

Autoads will take several shots of the Normal Beam to destroy but can be destroyed in one hit by the Spazer. A good tactic is to freeze them or use a missile, but you can also fire at them rapidly from a distance. Autoads can jump incredibly high, making them difficult to avoid if you don’t have much firepower.

Their Japanese name is Auto AD (オートAD).
