This snail-like creature has a large, sticky foot it uses to adhere to the walls and ceiling of the caverns. Long trails of their slime can often be seen on the cave walls. The Tsumuri’s hard, spikey shell deters predators and will damage Samus on impact. Their large horn is used for burrowing and lifting rocks. They feed off small animals, bacteria, and plants living in the soil.

The weakest enemy in the game. Crawls on walls and is destroyed in one hit from the Normal Beam.

The Japanese word for snail is "katatsumuri" (カタツムリ) and this name is a play on that word. The Japanese manual states, “Has a strong, sticky leg that allows it to move about the walls and ceilings of the caverns.”
