An airborne insect with the evolved ability to launch its stinger at prey. The Barbed War Wasp is a highly aggressive member of the War Wasp family, this insect can propel the tip of its stinger up to 20 meters. The stinger tip regrows seconds after launch and contains an acidic compound designed to predigest prey.
The Barbed War Wasp is an enemy fought during the Incinerator Drone battle. During the battle, these hostile insectoids will fly out of their nest due to the Incinerator Drone shooting hot flames into it. They will shoot poison stingers at Samus, but can be easily dodged and be taken out with a charged shot of her Wave Beam.
This creature is a one-time scan. After destroying the Incinerator Drone, they are no longer found anywhere else in the game.
