Sentient floating lava mollusk protected by an impenetrable shell. A puddle spore opens when approached, attempting to intimidate with its size. When opened, direct fire to its mantle causes it to flip into a defensive position. If it can slam shut, it ejects a spread of harmful energy globules.

Puddle Spores are encountered in large pools of lava. You must shoot the inside of its "mouth" which it then reacts and flips upside down, allowing you to use it as a stepping stone to get to the other side. Be careful of its projectiles, so attack it as soon as you can get a chance.

The Puddle Spore's design draws inspiration from Spore Spawn.
