Parasite Queen

Boss
  • Parasite Queen
Artist: Smolb
Planet
Tallon IV
Region
Space Frigate Orpheon
  • Info
  • Strategy
  • Misc

A female Parasite that has grown to gargantuan proportions. The creature has massive arms and a hulking upper body which dwarfs its abdominal region. Powerful jaws filled with razor-sharp teeth account for most of the head. The Queen is able to lay hundreds of eggs from its massive ovipositor and shoot concentrated beams of acidic vomit from its mandibles, a trait not found in the standard parasitic genomes. The Parasite Queen has run amok on the Space Pirate Frigate Orpheon and will violently attack any creature it determines to be a threat. It has undergone lengthy experiments at the hands of the Space Pirates and was likely able to grow due to Phazon-infused genetic manipulation.

This is the first boss of the game. When you encounter the Queen, immediately scan her, as it will allow you to see where her weak point is (her mouth). Stay locked on and dash to the left/right to avoid her mouth beams. Pay attention to the forcefield surrounding the Queen and look for an opportunity when the gaps between them line up with her open mouth. Use up any missiles you have left, and then use Charge Beam shots to finish the Queen easily.

Like all bosses, the Parasite Queen is a one-time scan.

The Parasite Queen was designed by Mark Pacini and originally concepted by Greg Luzniak. It was later concepted by Andrew Jones, and modeled by Mike Sneath. Mark Pacini modeled the original Parasite Queen model shown in the E3 2001 FMV trailer.

The Parasite Queen also appears in the Frigate Orpheon stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
