The Ice Trooper is a Space Pirate armed with Ice Beam technology. Space Pirates have reverse-engineered several weapons, including the Ice Beam. A flaw in the design makes these pirates vulnerable to their own Beam Weapon system. These weapons are inferior to Chozo-designed originals, but still quite potent.
As cool as they are, Ice Troopers are unfortunately the most weakest in the color-coded trooper league. If you hit them with a charged Ice Beam, it will freeze them in their tracks instantly. A single Missile will shatter them to pieces. Usually only a threat when you have to take on multiple at once or other enemies are in the same room.
