This corrosive substance is used to attack and paralyze land-bound prey, as well as a means of purging its body of waste and toxins, and the hazardous sputum will splash explosively. The cavern floor of Drivel nests are covered in a thick layer of this substance, which stains the rocks with a pinkish lime.
The Drivel remains aloft through the regulation of a helium-like gas stored in its wings, a compound it also generates through digestion. This ravenous predator has two large eyes have evolved to detect the infrared spectrum.
