Subject is U-Mos, a Sentinel of the Luminoth. Scans indicate numerous beneficial abilities, including hightened reflexes, durability, psionics, and flight. Ability to generate and manipulate energy on par with that of the Chozo. Dating scans indicate an age of 2.15 centicycles. Only known active member of the species: remaining Luminoth locked in protective stasis until crisis is resolved.

One of the few allies Samus meets along her travels, U-Mos extends a plea for help upon her arrival on Aether. He does not accompany her directly despite being suggested to have great ability in combat. This is likely due to the fact that he must protect the remaining Luminoth who are in stasis within the Great Temple. However, he aids Samus in numerous ways. These include upgrading her map and translator as well as providing her with the Light Suit and consequential ability to teleport between the realms of Aether. Like the Sentinel holograms in the other lands, he also restores Samus's energy upon their first meeting and provides information on her next objectives.

U-Mos is a necessary and helpful ally. He is invulnerable to all weapons in Samus's arsenal. All beam and missile weapons will be deflected by a force field he projects, which is only visible when he is under attack. Morph Ball weaponry is not deflected by the force field, but will have no effect on U-Mos.

If left idle, U-Mos will raise his arm to create a ball of light around which the many moth-like organisms in the room will congregate. The attraction to light of these creatures can also be observed when they gather around Samus while she is in Morph Ball mode.

If Samus approaches U-Mos to speak to him, he will kneel down to meet her at eye level, as he is more than twice her height while standing.

During their first meeting, U-Mos appears to call Samus by name, indicating some level of either familiarity or psychic interpretation.
