No spoilers here, just really basic stuff. Feels like this should have been Volume 1 and not 9.

Volume 9 may not be as exciting for some, as it focuses on how to perform all of Samus’s basic gameplay moves. It also talks about the Metroid staples such as using the map, how to deal with special blocks, opening doors, and interacting with terminals. Unlike Fusion, in Dread, Samus can also save at “Network Stations” where she interacts with Adam.

Volume 10 will likely release sometime next week and will probably be the last Dread Report. Honestly it’s been an incredible breath of fresh air to see Nintendo marketing this game so heavily. I’m super satisfied and glad they went all in this time around and tried to get new people and generations into the series. Speaking of which, if this is your first time here, WELCOME! We have plenty of content, so enjoy. We also have a Discord server where you can chat with other Metroid fans, old and new.

1 week left, folks. I know y’all are as hyped as I am.

Straight from the Metroid Dread Japanese website, NOJ has released three new Japanese commercials for Metroid Dread. Watch ’em below:

Two of them center around two young Japanese men reacting as they get stalked and killed by the EMMI:

The third one though, hoooo boy. Really awesome. Note: Some people think this 3rd one has “spoilers” in it, so don’t watch it if you’re attempting to avoid those things.

Lastly I’ll leave you with this, which is another trailer released a couple weeks ago. Watch at your own risk.

Nintendo’s marketing sure has kept us on our toes this time around. And it feels great. This new report details the areas and creatures/enemies which reside there.

From the report, there are at least six areas to be traversed on ZDR. They are:

  • Artaria (Rocky intro area)
  • Cataris (Power site, fueled by magma)
  • Dairon (Biological research site)
  • Burenia (Underwater research site)
  • Ghavoran (Underground forest)
  • Ferenia (Abandoned Chozo city!)

The report details what to expect from these harsh environments as well as the attacks of each of the creatures that reside there. Unless you want to find all of this out for yourself, head on over to the page.
