Twitter user @LuigiBlood has datamined a Nintendo Switch Online folder and found some Metroid: Zero Mission screenshots. The interesting part is that it appears that the GBA link service will be kept functional in its NSO GBA counterparts. Does this mean we will get the extra galleries & The Fusion Suit in Metroid Prime Remastered?!? Only time will tell. Again, this is all speculation based on some datamined screenshots but I have no doubt that Zero Mission is on its way, however, retaining the GBA link bonuses would be amazing!

Today we bring you a blast from the past. We scanlated this back in ’15 but later found pristine scans elsewhere online. Enjoy our new scanlation of “The Shape of Happiness” from Famitsu comix circa 1986.

As I mentioned in my previous post, yesterday was the final day you could redeem Wave 1 of the custom Metroid Prime Remastered avatar icons that you can get only through the Nintendo Switch Online service. Wave 2 is now available through March 16th.

I’ve seen many people online confused with what should be a relatively easy process. Since it seems y’all need your hands held through this process, here’s what you do:

  1. On the Switch home screen, open Nintendo Switch Online.
  2. Scroll down to Missions & Rewards and hit A.
  3. Metroid Prime Remastered is the first available selection. The custom icons can be redeemed there. Use your dpad to select the icon and push A to redeem.

Once you’ve redeemed them, create your icon. You do this, once again, on Nintendo Switch Online.

  1. Use your dpad to highlight the red box in the upper left corner. It should show your existing profile pic and your name, and what kind of membership you have. Push A.
  2. Highlight Create Icon + and push A.
  3. Select Metroid Prime Remastered.
  4. Choose from randomly-generated icons or scroll down to Create your Icon and build one yourself.

It’s really that simple. For the billionth time, you need to have a NSO subscription to get these. If you don’t have NSO, then you can’t get them. NSO offers free trials so if you’re that hard up for cash, it may be the way you can get these without actually paying for NSO. But you need to have Platinum Points to redeem them.

Just like Wave 1, Wave 2 contains:

  • 6 new character icons – 10 Platinum Points each
  • 10 new backgrounds – 5 Platinum Points each
  • 6 new frames – 5 Platinum Points each

Here’s a gallery of them all:

Fusion released today on Nintendo Switch Online’s GBA service. It’s part of their “Expansion Pack” extra option which you must pay $50 for a year to access. Check out this release trailer Nintendo made just for this game:

Also of note is today is the final day you can redeem your Nintendo Platinum Points to get the first Wave of custom avatars from Metroid Prime Remastered. Wave 2 starts tomorrow so get on it if you want them all!

Elite collector and all-around retro video game badass Stephan Reese, aka Art of Nintendo Power (@artofnp), posted this up a year ago, but it’s never too late to share. He owns many of the original pencil drawings from the Metroid Prime Nintendo Power comic that we recently uploaded to our new comics page. See them all in the video below:

I’ve also added all of the Captain N comics. Slowly but surely, they’ll all be in there some day!

Today was a hard work day for me on the site. Spent nearly 10 hours straight working on it, no joke.

All this work was due to me needing to convert and rebind every single one of our comics into a single-page .pdf format for our…

NEW COMICS SECTION!

…but, I’m not even halfway finished yet. So at least I have a new project to work on. More comics and manga will be added to this page as time goes by. Hoping to finish everything up by the end of the month.

But in the meantime, you can enjoy our new page with our new comic book reader. I think you’ll agree it looks amazing.

Keep in mind: It’s best to view these on a PC or a landscape-rotated mobile device.

It’s been a great pleasure to look through these comics again and I hope you will have fun too. Enjoy.

Japanese users who have already purchased Metroid Prime Remastered received this email a few days ago, detailing that those subscribing to the Nintendo Switch Online service will be able to use their Nintendo points to buy MPR themed profile pics. They’ll be made available for only 2 weeks: March 3rd through March 17th.

Let’s hope this is worldwide. We haven’t heard anything official yet, but fingers crossed. It’s about damn time we got more Metroid-themed avatars, despite these being behind a NSO paywall.
