The official second trailer for Metroid Prime 4 Beyond was shown during today’s Nintendo Direct. Watch in all it’s splendor. The trailer showcases a few of Samus’s new abilities as well as a sexy suit at the end. Check it out here and try to contain yourself!

METROID AMIGOS! 2025 is shaping up to be a big year for us Metroid fans. Nintendo and Piggyback have announced Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective, a 212-page book exploring the development of the first three Metroid Prime games and Metroid Prime Remastered. Launching summer 2025, the book will feature developer insights, producer notes, and an introduction by series producer Kensuke Tanabe.
Created in collaboration with Nintendo and Retro Studios, the book offers a premium design with a stitch-bound cloth hardcover and high-quality art paper. Priced at $49.99, it will showcase Samus Aran in an etched metallic design on the cover.
Fans can expect a behind-the-scenes look at the series’ transformation from skepticism—when Metroid Prime first introduced a first-person perspective—to critical acclaim. While it won’t include details on Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, 2025 is still packed with excitement for the franchise!

Jon Wofford, the Lead UI Artist at Retro Studios, shares his excitement about the reveal trailer for “Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.” He highlights the HUD, which he has meticulously crafted to honor the Metroid Prime legacy while incorporating modern updates. He credits Jordan Johnson for the UI technology and Nina Morris for her work on the scan holograms. Wofford details various aspects of the HUD, including its combat functionality, scanning animations, and the Morph Ball HUD. Here’s a nice insightful breakdown of Sylux’s bio & history by YTer Fat Brett. He takes a deep dive into the character as well as adding some speculation onto the new Prime 4 trailer.
One thing to note though, Brett: those are Mochtroids behind Sylux, not normal Metroids.
Yesterday, Nintendo of Japan launched its microsite for Metroid Prime 4 Beyond. It’s nothing more than the logo, a link to the trailer and a year, however, there is a video playing in the background depicting footage of the environment we saw Samus walk into during the last few seconds of the trailer. Since the footage is darkened on the site, it’s hard to make out the details. But there’s hope! A clever fan has already ripped the background video and enhanced it so we can see the environment in its full glory:
What do you think of this new environment? Will MP4 take place on multiple planets like Corruption and Hunters or will it take place on 1 like Prime and/or have different dimensions Echoes? Time will tell…
