Prime 4 Beyond: Switch 2 Edition
During today’s Direct, Nintendo announced “Switch 2 editions” of many of their popular games including Super Mario Jamboree, Pokemon Legends ZA, Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, and Kirby and the Forgotten Kingdom.
The biggest news out of this is Prime 4 Beyond is one of those Switch 2 Editions, which as of this writing, we don’t know if that will be available with the original Switch version of Prime 4 launches.
The Switch 2 Nintendo Direct was quite deep and many very cool announcements were made. I highly recommend you watch it here. (Prime 4 Beyond Switch 2 Edition footage appears at the 27:26 mark, or watch it below.)
As stated in the video, Prime 4 Beyond on Switch 2 will boast 2 video modes: “Quality mode” is 4K (3840p) at 60fps or “Performance mode” which is HD resolution (1080p) at 120fps.
Switch 2 will MSRP $449.00 USD and $499.00 USD for the Mario Kart World bundle.

Here’s a nice insightful breakdown of Sylux’s bio & history by YTer Fat Brett. He takes a deep dive into the character as well as adding some speculation onto the new Prime 4 trailer.
One thing to note though, Brett: those are Mochtroids behind Sylux, not normal Metroids.
Metroid Prime 4 Beyond Japanese Microsite
Yesterday, Nintendo of Japan launched its microsite for Metroid Prime 4 Beyond. It’s nothing more than the logo, a link to the trailer and a year, however, there is a video playing in the background depicting footage of the environment we saw Samus walk into during the last few seconds of the trailer. Since the footage is darkened on the site, it’s hard to make out the details. But there’s hope! A clever fan has already ripped the background video and enhanced it so we can see the environment in its full glory:
What do you think of this new environment? Will MP4 take place on multiple planets like Corruption and Hunters or will it take place on 1 like Prime and/or have different dimensions Echoes? Time will tell…
