MDb news since 1996.
Today marks the release of Metroid Fusion for the WiiU Virtual Console, via the eShop (4/30 for our friends in Japan). It is one of a handful of classic GBA titles that are all making their way to the WiiU. Other GBA titles released today include Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Advance Wars.
The last time Nintendo released Fusion was for 3DS in December of 2011, but only as a 3DS ambassador-exclusive title. I must admit, it would be pretty damn sweet to play Fusion on a WiiU Gamepad - which is essentially a giant classic GBA. You will be able to also play off your TV screen if you so desire. Being on the WiiU of course means that the game will also have its own Miiverse community, so more zany Metroid art, antics & memes are sure to follow. Nintendo has mentioned that they are also planning on releasing Nintendo DS games to the WiiU VC at some point in the future, so perhaps Pinball and Hunters can be a part of that.
Grab Metroid Fusion today for a mere $7.99!
