MDb news since 1996.
Tomodachi Collection: New Life by the creator of Metroid, Yoshio Sakamoto, is finally heading to the US. The series was first revealed to us in Sakamoto's GDC keynote lecture, and everyone suspected the game would never see the light of day outside of Japan due to its total and utter Japanese-ness (and the heavy use of Japanese voice packs). However, given the title's incredible sales (1.63 million in Japan so far), Nintendo has decided to take a gamble and release it over here. Check out this translated trailer for an idea of what to expect. Hopefully the game's ridiculous quirkiness will localize well. Hmm, I wonder what else Sakamoto's team is up to these days...
Until next time...
