We've just got word that the newest issue of Game Informer magazine (October) has released information and screenshots of the Metroid-themed minigame in the next-gen WiiU title, Nintendo Land. The game that was original titled "Battle Mii" when it was shown at E3 is now officially called "Metroid Blast," and could be seen as a 3rd-person shooter deathmatch of sorts, where players get to either control their Mii on land (decked out in a Samus-esque Power Suit) or by air via Samus's ship, which you control using the WiiU's unique gamepad. Judging from the screens, there seems to be multiple game modes, and offers 2-4 split screen local multiplayer.
