Nintendo has finally unveiled its Elite Club Nintendo gift for this year. Those who were able to reach Gold or Platinum status will be able to choose from 3 gifts: Nintendo Playing Cards (made of plastic, not paper!), a three poster set (Kid Icarus Uprising, Luigi's Mansion 2, and Zelda Skyward Sword), or a 2013 Calendar. Along with those choices, members can also choose to get 1 of 4 game titles for a Virtual Console service: Metroid II: Return of Samus, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again, or Super Mario Kart.

In other news, Shigeru Miyamoto was quoted in a recent informal interview with IGN's Richard George saying that he'd very much like to see both Star Fox and Metroid on the WiiU in the future and that it would be very interesting to see what they could come up with in terms of utilizing the technology of the new Gamepad. Looks like Nintendo hasn't give up on Metroid just yet! Go here for the scoop.
