Wasabi Sunshine's Kickstarter project to create a fantastic hardbound version of his series 31 Days of Zero Suit Samus has been successfully funded! The Metroid Database contributed at the Gravity Suit level using some of the ad revenue this site has generated. This means the MDb is a patron of a Metroid project, and that is pretty awesome. The prize from this level will in turn become a prize for this year's MDb contest which is... Well, we haven't decided what it will be yet, but we can guarantee it will be super cool!

If you missed out on the Kickstarter, fear not! 31 Days of Zero Suit Samus and most of the funder bonuses will be available for purchase regularly once the book goes into print (minus the dust jacket, among other things which were exclusive to the Kickstarter project).

So yeah... Basically, every time someone clicks on an ad on the site, we get a little money. Half of it goes to run the Kontek servers, and the other half goes to the site. That half is used to buy prizes for the MDb contest and for other cool stuff like the Metroid Prime 2 manga you see on the site that ordinary Metroid fans would be unable to acquire...as well as to help fund cool projects like this one! (And no, in case you were wondering, not a cent of it goes to the 'buy a videogame' slush fund.) It's a great way the site can help give back to the community while ensuring the lights stay on.

And no, you don't have to change your browsing habits to click on the ads or even turn off your ad blocker to enjoy the site!! This is just a little PSA to let those of you who are wondering know why those ads are here and what we actually do with the money and let you know the project was funded. ;-)
