イドン ("Idon") on Pixiv, recently posted some great artwork inspired by the famous gold statue in Super Metroid. Longtime Crocomire fans will be pleased to see that the Norfair creature earned a spot alongside the game's main boss foursome.

Though the box art version doesn't quite make the same impression as seeing Kraid's cropped feet mysteriously floating at the top of the official US and European covers, Mother Brain's head is analogously obscured by the Super Famicom banner placement. Fortunately, イドン also posted separate art for each character if you'd like to view some of the extra details.
