MDb news since 1996.
New versions of the soundtracks to Metroid II: Return of Samus, Metroid Prime Pinball, and the Super Smash Bros. games are now up. These are all digital recordings, so they sound a lot better than the originals. In addition, the new Metroid II game rip is one of the cleanest ever done. One thing I noticed is that when Metroid II is played on a Game Boy, the game will play clicks and pops during certain tracks. Sometimes these will play when certain notes are changed, and other times, they will play randomly, which suggests this wasn't what the composer intended. Note if you play the Virtual Console version, the audio doesn't sound exactly like the Game Boy, but it also doesn't have these clicks and pops. I used Audio Overload, which plays back the Game Boy cleanly and fixed a couple clicks here and there manually, so now you can listen to the cleanest version of the Metroid II soundtrack out there!
Until next time...
