to IGN64, Shigeru Miyamoto announced today that NCL is in fact working on a new Metroid title during his keynote address at the Game Developers Conference in San Jose. Although he is not working on the project, IGN says, he does stop by the development department to check up on things from time to time. Evidently Miyamoto did not specify that it would be for the Nintendo 64, which is causing speculation that it may be intended for Nintendo's next system. More news as it comes to light. Let's hope Samus' next mission is finally scheduled...for real.
