Chapter 6 "W.. what k.. kind of proposition?" Samus was white with fear. "Let me re-phrase that, an explanation, to why you are here. Samus was relieved for a moment, then she remembered she was half naked in front of a….thing that could kill her in a second. "Samus, you were brought here for your brain." That gave the all too familiar fear right back to Samus. "What about it?" she felt some burst of courage. The room got bright. "Human brains are much more... powerful than ours. We have many "mother" brains as you call them. They are merely relay brains. It that you are talking to is one. I speak through them, from a central point, far away. Ah, our fleet is vast and ready to attack the target." "What is your-" "None of your concern as of yet. The thing that we need is your brain. We may be wrong but it seems to be more active in battle than the other human units. I believe I can transform your brain to a mass war machine. You will have no hope of escaping our base here on Quantra. A whole fleet of fighters and battle cruisers surround this planet. So don't even think you'll get out of it!" The door behind Samus opened. She started gasping for air. "You might want to put that helmet on, Samus." She fell to the ground looking for it with her now blurred vision. Searching, fell unconscious. Chapter 7 Samus woke up on a cold metal surface. She finally came to senses when a loud horn honked. She looked around, she was on a table about 4 ˝ feet off the ground. Samus tried to move but her arms and legs were tightly fastened to the table. "Where am I", Samus said. She was waiting for a vocal response but got three pirates with strange instruments: a knife looking object, a long needle and an object she could not identify. They circled around the table. The one with the knife reached over and made an incision right above here clothing around her neck. Samus screeched in pain, couldn't even put me to sleep? Her breathing started to get very heavy. They cut across and to the tip of each shoulder. The pirate with the unidentified object walked over and it began using it to slurp up the blood. The last one walked over and used the "needle" which actually emitted a laser and sealed the wound. "We need a blood sample from a variety of areas." "Well I guess that's one way, painful way to do it." Samus tried to sound like it did not bother her but it did a great deal. All three walked out. A voice came on, the brain "We need much knowledge of your body before we can adapt it to work." The rings around her feet and hands loosened so she could get up. "We apologize for the crudeness of that procedure but our teleportation devices don't work on organic material. All the rest of the tests will be un-physical, we will be able gather the information from our scanners." "Well," Samus said, "I guess that is good." She was trying to be funny at the wrong time. "WE COULD DO IT THE MORE PAINFUL WAY!" Samus lost her sense of humor. "What do you want from me?" "Your Brain" Samus shuddered. "So that is what this is all about?" "Well yes and no. We have to tell you of our plans. You might know of ancient earth history, your scientists in the 20-21st centuries were studying the universal pathways called "worm holes". We have continued there studies and found a stable one from our galaxy to yours. We are now in the process of opening it large enough for a invasion force. The Galactic Federation won't stand a chance. "And you need me for…." "We need your 3-Demensional battle thinking. Our brains and even the mother brain can't match your brain's. We will adapt yours to our machines wear you can control an entire fleet of ships at one time. By a technological advancement made years ago called "Ansible". It transmits instantaneously to any other Ansible unit. All of our ships and mindless bodies are equipped with this device. As one mind we will destroy your precious Galactic Federation." "But what of this "Mother" brain you speak of? Aren't you the mother brain? "Of course not! Is that what you humans have thought? The brain you are speaking to is only a relay brain. It has no thought except what the Mother Brain thinks. You ARE talking to the Mother Brain. Now enough questions we need more tests!" Samus felt a sting on her back, "Oh, sleepy time aga-?" Chapter 8 Samus awoke to the sound of another horn. Slowly her blurred vision came back to clearness. She noticed that her clothes had been changed to what looked like a one piece, all black, swim suit. "Every ten minutes you put me to sleep. Can't you let me stay awake for a while?" "Ten minutes? You have been here for 5 months!" "What? I thought only a few days at most! "You thought wrong, it is time. Samus felt herself being pulled bye her feet. She fell off the table and hit the ground hard. She stood up. The ground opened up into a circle just large enough for her fall through, and she did. She fell for what seemed like forever. Samus felt her body slow down as the wind whipped by. She landed in a splash. She was completely under some liquid and the roof of the chamber shut. She saw a mask with some tubes attached to it and put it on. She breathed to find oxygen coming through. The water was at a comfortable temperature. "The tube you are in is your home for the rest of your life." The glass tint went away and Samus could see out. There was whit walls and computer monitors everywhere. "And this is your command station?" "Only for your galaxy, ours is much better." Pirates everywhere sat at the stations and terminals. Gun turrets were mounted on the walls and ceiling. I wish I could see what is happening back at the Federation command station Samus thought. Just as she did a picture of the building appeared in front of her. It was a video on the glass. "So you have discovered how to think to get things done? Just like moving a limb. You will get used to it after a short time. When we remove you from your body you will see." "Remove me?! My body is me!" "Oh no it is not. You just need to see our side of things." Show me Armstrong. A picture of his ship, "The Falcon", appeared and the screen zoomed in through the hull. Samus told the camera to pan around and she saw him. He was sitting at the pilot's seat. She ordered the camera to zoom in on the course setting. 3QR65! She quickly turned off the screen. I hope The Brain didn't see that she thought. Send a private message to Armstrong: DON'T GO TO 3QR65! GO BACK TO G-FED AND WARN ABOUT INVASION! PIRATES STILL ALIVE! HAVE FLEET TO DESTROY US! WANT TO USE ME FOR TRANSMISSION: JAMMED FROM THE SORCE ___ Armstrong read the message in disbelief. He punched in the commands to turn around back to G-Fed space. Just as he did a vessel appeared on his radar-sonar sensors. It was identified as a pirate vessel heavily damaged. He read about 4 life forms abroad. He tried hailing it but no response. The vessel moved across his sensors and pulled up behind his ship. Armstrong jerked back on the manual controls (a joystick) as several shots went bye. "Think your smarter than me huh?" He pulled around and saw the ship through the front window and it looked fine, that is until he shot it up with everything he had. It tumbled aimlessly through space as Armstrong locked a tractor beam on it. He pulled it in so they docked. He boarded with care in his "Samus wanna-be suit" as she called it. Armstrong walked through the dark ship and over the derbies. When he got to what he thought was the bridge he saw 3 small creatures singing some kind of song and 1 larger creature that looked like a bird. None of them bothered to attack but ran away through a door on the opposite side of the room. Armstrong followed but they out ran him by quite a margin. He ran around the last corner he saw them turn when he saw it. A metroid! Holy shit, he thought. He turned and ran as fast as he could. The metroid followed almost as fast but adrenaline made Armstrong faster. He got to The Falcon and shut the hatch just in time. Armstrong un-docked and pulled away so he could shoot. He let the ship have everything he had and it blew up in a ball of fire. "Take that you dumb ass birds."
